How to measure yourself ✳︎ A step by step guide ✳︎
Before You Start
Use a soft measuring tape.
Wear fitted clothing or undergarments.
Stand upright with feet together.
Keep the tape measure snug but not tight.
1. Measure the Bust
Stand naturally with arms relaxed at your sides.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the bust.
Ensure the tape stays level across the back and parallel to the floor.
Do not pull the tape too tightly.
Record the measurement.
✅ Tip: Take a normal breath and measure without holding your chest in or out.
2. Measure the Waist
Find your natural waist, which is usually the narrowest part of your torso.
It is often located just above the belly button and below the rib cage.
Wrap the tape around this point.
Keep the tape level all the way around.
Relax your stomach and record the measurement.
✅ Tip: Bend sideways slightly. The crease that forms usually indicates your natural waist.
3. Measure the Hips
Stand with feet together.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the hips and buttocks.
Check in a mirror to ensure the tape remains level front and back.
Record the largest measurement.
✅ Tip: This measurement is usually taken 18-23 cm (7-9 inches) below the natural waist, depending on body shape.
4. Measure the Skirt Length
Start at the natural waist where the waistband would sit.
Place the end of the tape at this point.
Measure straight down to the desired hemline:
Above knee
Knee length
Midi length
Maxi length
Record the measurement.
✅ Tip: Have someone help you for the most accurate skirt-length measurement.
